In its Introduction course, DMW uses a little time explaining the nature of a relational database and the importance of doing the planning before taking to the keyboard and Access itself.
Even on Intermediate and Advanced courses, DMW recaps, when necessary, on the principles of a RDBMS (Relational Database Management System). This is because many participants on past courses spoke of problems with databases they had started tehmselves. In turned out that in most cases problems resulted from the wrong choice of tables and the relationships between them.
